OTHER SUMMER FUNDING PROGRAMS

In addition to placements through the Human Rights Internship and Guaranteed Summer Funding programs, CLS provides other summer funding opportunities listed below.

Faculty Research Assistant Positions fund students to work closely with Columbia's public interest faculty on various projects. Past students' projects have ranged from a landmark death penalty study to preparation for a meeting of the U.N. Human Rights Committee to a book on the rights of crime victims.

Fellowships are also available to students doing public interest work during their summers. For more information on summer fellowships please refer to the Guide to Guaranteed Summer Funding or the list of selected fellowships available to CLS students featured below.

Depending on availability, there may be other summer fellowships listed on  www.pslawnet.org in the “Career Central” section.  For any additional questions or concerns regarding summer funding opportunities, please visit SJI’s website or contact SJI staff.

Many law firms, labor unions, and nonprofit organizations serving workers have reported that, because of its reputation and their experience with our Fellows, they consider a Peggy Browning Fellowship as an especially important credential.
