ALUMNI, STUDENT WIN PUBLIC INTEREST FELLOWSHIPS

Fellows will work on public interest projects that alleviate poverty

NEW YORK, NY -- Columbia Law School congratulates our three student and alumni winners of the Skadden Fellowship, widely recognized as one of the nation's most competitive and prestigious public interest fellowships. Each two-year fellowship enables awardees to create projects which provide legal services to the poor, elderly, homeless or disabled, and those deprived of their civil or human rights.

Columbia Law School's winners of Skadden fellowships for 2006-08 are:

Molly Biklen '04
Urban Justice Center's Community Development Project in New York City

Kati Daffin '05
Lenox Hill Neighborhood House in New York City

Aaron Fischer '06
Children's Law Center in Washington, D.C.

The Skadden Fellowship is a two-year award given to law students nationwide to support public interest law projects that alleviate poverty in the US.  Columbia won three out of 25 fellowships awarded this year.
