The Indefatigable Edith Spivack Retires after 70 Years and 10 Mayors

Edith I. Spivack '32 has retired after 70 years with the New York City Law Department, where she was hired in 1934 as assistant corporation counsel under New York Mayor Fiorello H. LaGuardia. Her remarkable legal career spans the terms of 23 corporation counsels and 10 mayors, including current Mayor Michael Bloomberg who honored Ms. Spivack with a special commendation during the Law Department's annual ceremony.
