  The Decline of the Juvenile Death Penalty   
In a forthcoming article in the Journal of Criminal Law and Criminology, Columbia University scholars deliver compelling empirical evidence of an emerging societal norm opposing the death penalty for juvenile offenders, which may have a significant impact on Roper v. Simmons, a case scheduled to be heard before the U.S. Supreme Court in the upcoming term. This case will mark the first time since 1989 that the constitutionality of the juvenile death penalty has been reviewed.
  
  Symposium on Executive Compensation   
Columbia Law School's Center for Law & Economics will host a day-long symposium on October 15, 2004 featuring presentations by leading academics, investors, executives, advisers, and members of the media. The program will provide a maximum of 6 transitional New York CLE credits (5 in the Areas of Professional Practice and 1 in Ethics and Professionalism). This event has a fee and requires registration.
