On Grutter and Gratz: Examining "Diversity" in Education

On the eve of the fiftieth anniversary of the landmark Brown v. Board of Education decision, the Supreme Court was once again asked to consider the issue of diversity in education in the Grutter and Gratz cases. In On Grutter and Gratz: Examining "Diversity" in Education, a symposium published in the October 2003 issue of the Columbia Law Review, Lee C. Bollinger, Gerald Torres, Jack Greenberg, Derrick Bell, and Robert P. George discuss these recent cases and reflect on the merits of continuing affirmative action in education under the constitutional rationale of "diversity."

The symposium will be available from the Columbia Law Review website http://www.columbialawreview.org at the end of November.
