The 11th edition of the casebook Gellhorn and Byse’s Administrative Law, Cases and Comments, published this past August, includes expanded case law materials and coverage of regulatory initiatives introduced under the administrations of Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama. Together with their co-authors, Professors Gillian Metzger and Peter Strauss have also added a new chapter discussing e-governance, transparency, secret law, and the Freedom of Information Act in the age of the Internet.

Like its previously published versions, the most recent iteration of the casebook provides an exhaustive and layered treatment of administrative law and its doctrinal underpinnings, while placing the cases it cites in historical, political, and theoretical context. The authors have also added features to help students better navigate the material, and the text continues to employ the modular approach of the previous edition so that instructors can select more easily specific units that interest them.
