Graetz Discusses Energy Policy at National Press Club

Winter 2012

Professor Michael J. Graetz, the Columbia Alumni Professor of Tax Law and the Wilbur H. Friedman Professor of Tax Law, recently delivered a speech at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., on the past and future of the U.S. government’s energy policies. Graetz argued that the country’s energy policies have been stymied by political pandering and misguided initiatives, among other challenges. The speech drew upon material included in a spring 2012 essay, titled “Energy Policy: Past or Prologue,” which Graetz published in Dædalus, the quarterly journal of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
