Bullock Begins Service as Montana Governor

Fall 2013

Columbia Law School graduate Steve Bullock ’94 was sworn in as Montana’s 24th governor earlier this year after serving four years as the state’s attorney general. During his campaign, Bullock, who was born and raised in Montana, ran on a platform urging educational innovation, the resurgence of the agricultural industry, and clean energy initiatives. As the state’s top lawyer, Bullock established stricter laws against drunk driving and prescription drug abuse. Earlier in his career, he represented labor unions, consumer organizations, and small-business owners as a practicing attorney in Montana.
