The American Lawyer Magazine Honors Jack Greenberg

This past fall, Columbia Law School professor and renowned civil rights lawyer Jack Greenberg ’48 O received The American Lawyer magazine’s Am Law Lifetime Achievement Award. The publication selected Greenberg in part because of his work with the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, for which the professor won 35 of the 40 cases he argued before the U.S. Supreme Court. The magazine also recognized Greenberg for his efforts in establishing Human Rights Watch, the
Legal Resources Centre in South Africa, and the Law School’s first human rights
internship program.
