Lori Fisler Damrosch, the Henry L. Moses Professor of Law and International Organization, has been elected to the Institut de Droit International, which is widely considered the leading professional society in the field of international law. With her election, Damrosch has become one of only six Americans to serve as part of the renowned, 132-member institute.
The private group, which studies timely and important topics, makes recommendations to governments in an effort to contribute to the development of international law. Damrosch specializes in the field and has made significant contributions toward promoting U.S. compliance with its international legal obligations. She is also a member of the Council on Foreign Relations and serves as co–editor in chief of the American Journal of International Law.
