Art in the Law School
In addition to books and manuscripts, the Law Library also holds a variety of art, objects, and ephemera. Examples include engravings from the office of Harlan Fiske Stone, select antique "Spy" prints caricaturing lawyers and judges in the late 19th century, and audio and videotapes relating to events on campus. We also have more unusual items such as a set of Columbia University blue Wedgewood china, war medals awarded to some of our alumni, and a vintage Columbia Law School graduation gown.
The halls of Columbia Law School are also home to a number of portraits of alumni, professors, and former deans of the Law School.
