Student Support

Welcome

Welcome to the Information Technology Student Support Site.

The IT Department looks forward to working with you. The computing environment at the law school is rich with technology and we look forward to assisting you with its use throughout your affiliation with Columbia Law School. Our team of dedicated and hardworking professionals is here to support your student research and educational needs.

Please note: The Law School 's computing resources cannot be accessed without a valid Law School username and password. You are required to complete a computer-based training video and pass an online exam.

The training will familiarize you with the various resources unique to the Law School network. After passing the exam, your Law School network account will activate and you will receive your username and password.

You can take the Computer Based Training (CBT) module online, and activate your Law School network account. If for whatever reason you are unable to take the CBT online and/or activate your law school account, please visit us in early August and take the CBT and exam at Columbia; however, it is highly recommended that you try and complete the CBT online, prior to arriving the Law School. There are many computing tasks you can accomplish well before your arrival. Besides, the 2nd floor computer lab can get congested at times, as returning and incoming students vie for the same space. Avoid the lines and take the CBT online.

If you are ready to take the CBT, click on the link below. Once you are done going through the module (approximately 20-45 minutes), you will be instructed to take an online exam and how to activate your account. Follow the online instructions and best of luck. The flash player is required for viewing this site.  download flash.
