This speaker series, inaugurated in the fall of 1999, promotes robust exchanges on issues of common concern. For the Spring term the speakers will be drawn entirely from professors at the law school - all of whom are now engaged in scholarly work devoted to contemporary issues relating to war and peace, including the ‘war' on terrorism and Iraq. The speakers will be making short presentations, allowing plenty of time for open discussion. Subject to available seating, all sessions are open to the Columbia University community as well as to members of the general public. Unless otherwise noted below, all sessions are from 12:30-1:25 p.m. in room 106, Jerome Greene Hall, 435 West 116th Street with a light lunch provided on a first come, first serve basis (starting at around 12:20 p.m.). The organizer is Professor Jose E. Alvarez.
