Members of the Columbia Law School, Class of 2010—my friends—congratulations. I am honored to be here with you today.
For many of us, we did not reach this day alone. Others have stood by us—they fed us when we would have gone hungry, guided us when we would have been lost, listened to us when we otherwise would have talked to ourselves.
Many have come here today to show their support once again. Please join me in recognizing the families, friends and mentors who have helped us become Columbia Law School graduates.

Ben thanked the ones who got us here, and now I’d like to thank the ones who got us through.
Columbia is known for the quality of its legal education, but I will remember it largely for something else. To my fellow members of the Class of 2010, thank you for filling these three years with laughter and camaraderie. The path to this day has not been short, nor has it always been easy, but with good friends to support you, anything is possible. As we go forth into the world, I hope that we all continue to follow our passions and to meet challenges with fervor. Thank you and congratulations!
