William S. Ohlemeyer is a partner at Boies, Schiller and Flexner. His main practice area is complex litigation with an emphasis on mass torts, product liability, class actions, and federal multidistrict litigation. He has extensive experience managing and trying large-scale litigation in state and federal courts across the country. Ohlemeyer was formerly vice president and associate general counsel of Altria Group, Inc., where he was responsible for coordination of the litigation issues facing the Altria Group of companies.
Prior to joining Altria, he was a partner at Shook, Hardy & Bacon, where he successfully defended product liability cases tried to verdict in state and federal courts across the country. In 1998, the National Law Journal selected him as one of the nation's 10 top trial lawyers. Ohlemeyer joined Shook, Hardy & Bacon after a clerkship with the chief judge for the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri.
He received his J.D. cum laude in 1984 from the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Law, where he was a member of the Missouri Law Review and Order of the Coif. Ohlemeyer received a B.S. from the University of Missouri in 1981.
