Meredith Stead

Meredith Stead is a senior associate at Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer LLP. Her practice focuses on estate planning and administration, providing clients with advice on wealth preservation, transfer, and management; charitable giving; and individual and entity tax compliance and reporting. She has represented clients in federal and state audits, offers in compromise, voluntary disclosures, and Surrogate's Court matters. Ms. Stead also has extensive experience in forming tax-exempt organizations and advising them on federal and state compliance issues. Prior to joining APKS, Meredith practiced in the tax and trusts and estates practice groups at Hughes Hubbard & Reed LLP. She earned her J.D. in 2006 and an Advanced Professional Certificate in Estate & Gift Planning in 2013, both from New York University Law School. She has a B.A. from the University of Chicago and a B.F.A. from the California Institute of the Arts. While at NYU Law School, she was a Senior Executive Editor of the Law Review and a Student Editor of the Tax Law Review. She is a co-presenter of “Counseling the Small Non-Profit,” a CLE seminar offered jointly by Legal Aid and APKS.
