Andrew W. Amend is a senior assistant solicitor general with the New York State Office of the Attorney General.

As a former associate in the litigation department at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison, he focused on securities and international sovereign debt matters. Amend began his career as a summer associate for Sullivan & Cromwell. He later served as a law clerk for the Honorable Amalya L. Kearse of the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Amend received his J.D. from Columbia Law School, where he was a James Kent scholar and articles editor of the Columbia Law Review. He received his A.B., summa cum laude, from Georgetown University in English and French. He also holds an M. Phil. in English Romantic Studies from Oxford University.
