- Mr. Lefkowitz is a senior litigation partner in the New York City office of Kirkland & Ellis LLP and a member of the Firm’s Worldwide Management Committee. Lefkowitz left Kirkland in March 2001 when he was named General Counsel for the Office of Management and Budget. He was appointed Deputy Assistant to the President for Domestic Policy in January 2002. Over the past two and a half years, Lefkowitz has advised the President on a wide variety of issues, including health, education, and transportation policy, labor and veterans' affairs, environmental regulations, and international trade.
Lefkowitz earlier served as Director of Cabinet Affairs and Deputy Executive Secretary to the Domestic Policy Council in the administration of President George H.W. Bush.
