Lecturer in Law
Olivia Cassin is a staff attorney with The Immigration Law Unit of The Legal Aid Society. A graduate of Brooklyn Law School, Olivia joined the Legal Aid Society in 1992 after working for three years at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan as an associate in the litigation department.
As a staff attorney in the Society's Immigration Unit for over fourteen years, Olivia has represented numerous indigent and low-income non-citizens in removal proceedings before the Immigration Courts, the Board of Immigration Appeal and the federal courts. She has also provided legal assistance to undocumented young immigrants facing removal from the United States. Olivia has conducted know your rights presentations to immigration detainees and immigrant youth facing removal from the United States. She has also conducted trainings on a variety of immigration law topics for advocates and criminal defense attorneys, and provided guidance and support to pro bono attorneys and law students representing non-citizens in removal proceedings.
Olivia is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association.
