Lisa Grumet has worked
as an attorney for New York City since 1997. She is currently Chief of Policy
and Planning for the Family Court Division of the New York City Law Department,
where her responsibilities include strategic planning, data analysis and
interagency juvenile justice policy initiatives for the City's juvenile
prosecution unit.She previously advised
on education and social services policy issues and legislation as a Senior
Counsel in the Legal Counsel Division, and negotiated and assisted in
implementing several consent decrees as a supervisor in the General Litigation
Division.As a staff member for the 2010
New York City Charter Revision Commission, she worked on campaign finance and
conflicts of interest law proposals that were subsequently approved by the
voters.She has also taught as an
Adjunct Professor at Fordham Law School. Before starting at the Law
Department, she worked as a Pro Se Law Clerk with the United States Court of
Appeals for the Second Circuit.B.A.
