Hilary Steuer Grasso received her B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from Columbia Law School.  She began her career at Cahill, Gordon & Reindel, LLP.  From there, she transitioned to the New York City Department of Education’s Office of the General Counsel to pursue her passion for education law.  Subsequently, she worked as an associate at Kehl, Katzive & Simon, LLP advising public school districts, private schools, charter schools and non-profits on a range of matters.  Currently, she has her own practice advising charter schools, primarily in the areas of special education, discipline, and governance.  Her main client is the New York Charter School Incubator, for whom she also runs the internship program and with whom she developed and launched a Board Matching Portal to link charter school boards and potential trustees.  In addition to teaching at CLS, she is an adjunct at St. John’s University School of Law where she teaches Education Law.
