Under the direction of Legal Services for New York, students will conduct client intake interviews to assess the appropriateness of cases and will help clients file bankruptcy petitions. After the training, you are expected to take at least 2-3 bankruptcy petition cases during the school year. This normally takes 25 to 40 hours. Training will be held on Friday 1/19 from 10:00 am to 4:30 pm (with a lunch break) at NYU Law. Register for the training at http://bit.ly/BAP_S18.
This project is open to JD's and LLM's and qualifies for both the CLS mandatory requirement (for 2 & 3Ls; voluntary for 1Ls) and the NY state bar requirement.
