Two of our in-house pro bono projects require interested students to apply or register to participate by today:
Manhattan Legal Services Housing Intake Clinic: MLS will hold a weekly housing intake clinic on Fridays during the Fall Semester. Students will conduct one-on-one intake interviews with potential low-income clients, helping to assess legal issues presented in the case, as well as potential defenses and evidence for litigation. Students will be required to complete a 2-hour training. Register at http://bit.ly/MLS_F17. Training: 9/29, 10am-12pm, WJW 600. With questions, email Ashley Dalton.
LawHelp/NY: Students will staff LiveHelp, an online, real-time chat service that will direct users toward relevant self-help materials, legal assistance organizations and court information. Volunteers will receive several hours of training. Insterested students must complete the online LiveHelp Volunteer Questionnaire and email your resume to both Michelle Born and Allana Benton noting that you have completed the questionnaire. Training: 9/26, 6-8pm in WJW 103.
