In this second in a series of lectures, Prof. Kentaro Matsubara discusses East Asian concepts of state and property in a talk entitled, "Credit, Possession and Confucius: State Formation and Property in East Asian Societies."  Prof. Matsubara is a professor of law at University of Tokyo, Faculty of Law and is in residence at Columbia Law School as a visiting professor.
