The link below is a pdf version of the new Student Organizations Handbook for 2008-2009. Hard copies of this document are also available in the Student Services Office.
This handbook has been prepared to clarify Columbia Law School's administrative procedures for recognized Student Organizations. It contains information and helpful strategies to make your student organization both successful and effective. Use it as a guide to answer your questions about event planning, programming, and budgetary/financial concerns.
The handbook is organized in three main parts: Student Organization Accounts, which covers issues concerning financial management of your organization's finances; Services Available to Student Organizations, which deals with services such as access to space, calendaring of events, room reservations, etc.; and Miscellaneous Policies, which addresses law school and university policies governing student organization events. We've also included a Directory of important contacts you may need in order to plan events and to manage your organization accounts. Finally, there is a Table of Contents to assist you in finding the information you need.
We should note, however, that some of the policies and procedures in the handbook are subject to change. We will notify you as important changes and improvements are implemented. But please check the web page from time to time for the most current edition of the handbook.
