Private Educational Loans are disbursed in a variety of ways. Some lenders send to the Law School Financial Aid Office checks that are payable directly to the student, others send checks that are copayable to the student and to the University or transmit funds electronically directly into the student's University account. If your check is made payable directly to you and sent to the Financial Aid Office, you may pick it up upon presentation of your validated student identification card. If your check is copayable to you and to the University, you must endorse it into your University account at the University’s Cashiering windows in Kent Hall. As a rule, the Financial Aid Office requests even disbursements of private educational loan funds: one-half of the total annual loan amount is disbursed at the beginning of each term. Full-time enrollment is required for most programs. Students wishing to budget their funds over the academic year may request more than two disbursements, or may request an uneven disbursement of funds if they anticipate unusual expenses in either term.
