Students are encouraged to seek funding from federal and/or state scholarship programs, such as those available to veterans, as well as awards from the New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP). TAP grants are awarded to students who are
New York residents from needy families. In 2008-2009 the maximum annual TAP award to graduate students was $550. All NY residents filing a FAFSA can be considered for TAP. For more information, please contact NY State Higher Education Services Corporation at (888) 697-4372 or check its Web site at www.hesc.com. A listing of grant opportunities for NY residents also can be found on their Web site. If you are not a resident of NY, you may wish to contact your state government for possible scholarship programs, though these usually are intended for students attending schools within that same state.
