The Columbia Science and Technology Law Review (STLR) features articles from scholars, practitioners, and law students analyzing the legal and policy issues brought about by new developments in science and technology. Our coverage is broad - topic areas include, but are not limited to, the Internet, telecommunications, biotechnology, nanotechnology, computer law, and intellectual property. STLR also has a  partnership with a popular weblog devoted to technology news and information. A few staff members each semester, under the direction of a third-year editor, collaborate on short articles for the weblog dealing with various contemporary legal issues affecting the technology industry.

Editorial Staff selection is accomplished through a non-binding early application process or Columbia's 1L Writing Competition. Potential staff members apply to the journal by submitting a resume, a statement of interest, and a copy of either their moot court brief or writing competition essay. Selection is based on applicant’s expressed interest, writing ability, and past experience and/or education. A scientific or technical background is helpful but not required for membership. Staff members assists in the production of the journal and may, at their option, write a student note with the help of the third-year editorial staff. The best note submitted each year is awarded a $500 prize along with publication in the journal. The journal’s site on the World Wide Web is listed below.
