This seminar will be devoted to an in-depth examination of a number of legal techniques that can be used to fight climate change. Each student will be required to prepare a paper that explores one possible technique; what the technique would achieve; how its success could be assessed; what are the technique's precedents; the legal steps that would be required to implement the technique; and the associated political and economic considerations. The seminar will also explore selected issues in pending international climate change negotiations and other advanced issues.
Admission was by instructor permission. As of 11/26/2012, the seminar no longer requires the instructor's permission and is therefore open for pre-registration.
