A general course in trademark law, with primary attention given to the Lanhan Federal Trademarks Act. State trademark, dilution, and unfair competition doctrines, will also be
discussed, as will the impact of the Internet on federal and state trademarks doctrines. In addition, the course will explore the relationship and conflicts between trademarks and the First Amendment, and between trademarks and other property rights, including patent, copyright, and right of publicity.
The grade will be based on a combination of examination (proctored) and class participation.
