This course introduces the different ways in which law organizes creative and inventive activity. It is not a survey of patent, copyright, or trademark law. We will consider a series of discrete legal problems that raise important questions about the nature and contours of intellectual property rights. We will pay particular attention to the ways in which new technology challenges the application of traditional legal principles.
