L6106 American Contract Law

This is a basic introductory course in contract law designed for students familiar with other legal systems. Topics include the bases for enforcing promises, the bargaining process, including pre-contractual liability, the requirement of a writing (statute of frauds), policing bargains for unfairness, remedies for breach of contract, mistake, and unexpected circumstances. This course is open only to LL.M. students who do not have a U.S. J.D. degree.
