Renata Salecl is a professor of Psychology/Psychoanalyis and Law in the School of Law at Birkbeck, University of London, and a senior researcher in criminology at the Faculty of Law in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She is a leading scholar on the subject of psychoanalysis and law, and she has a long association with the critical legal studies movement.
Salecl is author of The Spoils of Freedom: Psychoanalysis and Feminism After the Fall of Socialism (Routledge: 1994), (Per)versions of Love and Hate (Verso: 1998), On Anxiety (Routledge: 2004) and Tyranny of Choice (Profile Books: 2010).
Salecl was also named "Slovenian Woman Scientist of the Year" by the Slovenian Ministry of Science in 2010.
In April of 2015, the center hosted a one-week seminar with Salecl.
