The 2009 Class Gift Program provides an opportunity for graduating students to join Columbia Law School alumni and begin their lifelong connection by pledging to support the Law School after graduation. The program’s success is based on participation rates and not the actual dollar amount of pledges. Last year, a record setting number of students made a pledge to the Annual Fund in support of their class gift - 83% among the entire class pledged with 77% of the JD class and 94% of the LL.M. class participating. We are confident that the Class of 2009 will surpass this record!
There are numerous reasons to pledge, but a few highlights include: you will help make Columbia Law School better for future students because new alumni participation rates help to leverage support from corporations and foundations, and it is an important measure in law school ranking determinations; your pledge will be publicly recognized at your graduation ceremony and in the Columbia Law School Annual Report; and possibly most important, you will be able to drink and eat on the Alumni Relations and Development Office’s tab at the GRADUATION GIFT KICK-OFF PARTY on MARCH 25, 2009! At the party the Graduation Keynote Speaker, the elected JD & LL.M. Class Speakers and the recipient of the Willis L.M. Reese Prize for Excellence in Teaching will be announced! Additionally, you will have the opportunity to make your pledge and receive a Columbia Law School business card holder in recognition of your support!
