The 17th Conference of the Parties (COP17) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) took place in Durban, South Africa from November 28 to December 9, 2011. COP17 also served as the seventh meeting of the Parties to the Kyoto Protocol (CMP7). Nearly 25,000 people attended, representing media groups, non-governmental organizations, and 195 countries.
