Regional Charities Meetings

The Charities Project convened its first Regional Meeting in New Hampshire Attorney General Kelly Ayotte's office in the summer of 2008. In 2009, three additional meetings were held in North Carolina, Washington and Texas. In total, 32 different states were represented at one of these meetings.

Regional Charities Meetings are organized for a limited number of Assistant Attorneys General within AG offices that are either beginning new initiatives in charities enforcement, have limited resources to do so on a continuing basis, or have AAGs new to this substantive area.

In a two-day series of meetings, these small groups are able to focus on overall priorities, leveraging resources and drilling down on nuts-and-bolts questions that AAGs face when working on prevention and enforcement in regulating charities.
