Caroline Bettinger-López, CLS '03 and currently the Deputy Director of Columbia's Human Rights Institute and Acting Director & Lecturer-in-Law of the Human Rights Clinic, has accepted a tenure-track position as Associate Clinical Professor and Director of Human Rights Clinic at the University of Miami School of Law. She will officially start as an Associate Clinical Professor on July 1st and will take the Fall to plan her clinic, which will officially launch in January of 2011. The clinic will have a strong component that focuses on supporting local human rights campaigns in South Florida. They will also do a significant amount of work on human rights issues in the U.S. the Caribbean, and Latin America, including work before the Inter-Commission and Court of Human Rights. Samuel L. Bray, Associate-in-Law 2008-10, has accepted a full-time position at Stanford University as the Executive Director of the Stanford Constitutional Law Center, where he will focus on writing and work with the Center. Sam will work with the director of the Center on developing academic programs, as well as developing topics for their events (both scholarly and student-focused), organizing the events in conjunction with the law school's program department, and long-range planning for scholarly collaborations, publishing, fellowships, grants, and acquisitions.
