The Early Interview Program ("EIP") August 12th-13th and 17th-19th, 2009. EIP, the largest of Columbia 's five annual recruitment programs, takes place at a hotel in midtown Manhatten and places 2L and 3L students in summer and postgraduate jobs.
Prescreening is not permitted, though employers may specify criteria such as technical degree(s), or particular language(s). Employers receive resumes from every student that bid for them (including those who could not be scheduled) a few days prior to the interview date.
The Office makes every possible effort to accommodate employers' requests for specific dates and other special requests, especially when requiring coordination with other law schools' on-campus programs.
All employers (including law firms) with fewer than 20 attorneys, and public sector employers of any size, may participate free of administrative fees. Participation in these and other Columbia programs is arranged by Columbia for employers annually beginning in late January.
Fall On-Campus Interview Program Columbia’s Fall Program runs from October 1 to November 1 and offers smaller and public sector employers an opportunity to interview 2L and 3L students chosen by our bidding/lottery system for summer associate and postgraduate positions.
Spring 1L Interview Program Columbia’s Spring Program takes place from late January to late February and focuses on 1L opportunities. The program offers employers an opportunity to interview 1Ls chosen by our bidding/lottery system for summer associate positions.
