Professor Blume has been a Professor at The Wharton School since 1967 and has served as the Director of the Rodney L. White Center for Financial Research since 1986. He was also the Director for the Weiss Center for International Financial Research from 1990 through 1992 and Chairperson of the Finance Department of the Weiss Center for International Financial Regulation from 1982 through 1986. His research focuses include financial markets, investments, investment behavior, and fixed-income securities.
Professor Blume has served as the Chairman of the NASD Economic Advisory Board, as a member of the Board of Managers of the Measey Foundation, and on the United States Government Accounting Office advisory committee that investigated the October 1987 stock market crash. He is a past managing editor of the Journal of Finance and currently is an editor of the Journal of Fixed Income and Journal of Pension Fund Management & Investment.
