Professor Katz teaches at Columbia Law School, where his course offerings have included Contracts, Commercial Transactions, Deals, Payment Systems, Sales Transactions: Domestic and International, Secured Transactions, and Economic Reasoning and the Law. Prior to joining the Columbia faculty in 2000, he was a Professor of Law at the Georgetown University Law Center (1995 - 1999) and Director of the school's John M. Olin Program in Law and Economics (1998 - 1999). Before Georgetown, Professor Katz began his teaching career at the University of Michigan Law School (1986 - 1994).
