Alan L. Beller

Mr. Beller, currently a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP, joined the firm in 1976. His practice focuses on complex securities, corporate governance, and corporate matters. He is also a member of the Board of Directors of The Travelers Companies, Inc. and a member of the Board of Overseers of the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
From January 2002 through February of 2006, Mr. Beller served as the Director of the Division of Corporation Finance of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission, where he also served as a senior counselor to the Commission. Among his accomplishments at the Commission were the implementation of the corporate provisions of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002, the adoption of corporate governance standards for listed companies, and the successful completion of comprehensive securities offering reforms.
