DESCRIPTION:Judge Ronen will discuss the importance of settlements in private law cases, and the role of judges in promoting them\: should judges be involved in settlement negotiations? And if so. how? In that context, Judge Ronen will discuss the scope of intervention by judges while helping the parties reach an agreement, and also describe and discuss the Israeli statute that allows judges to make a "settlement judgment".
