Human Rights Concerns in Federal Terrorism Investigations & Prosecutions
Since 9/11, more than 400 individuals have been prosecuted in U.S. Article III courts for terrorism-related crimes. Underlying and accompanying these prosecutions are a slew of government practices that single out American Muslims as suspect, creating a separate, flawed system of justice for individuals caught up in these cases. A team of students in the Human Rights Clinic has spent the past year examining U.S. counterterrorism policy and practice through the lens of domestic terrorism investigations and trials. Join us for a discussion about the human rights concerns raised in the domestic war on terror.
