A Conversation with Former State Solicitors General

Please join the Federalist Society in welcoming two former state solicitors general. Kevin Newsom graduated from Harvard Law School, after which he clerked for Judge O’Scannlain on the 9th Circuit and Justice Souter. He then worked in private practice before serving as the Solicitor General of Alabama. Today, in addition to working in private practice, he is a member of the American Law Institute and of the Advisory Committee on Appellate Rules. Caitlyn Halligan graduated from Georgetown University Law Center, after which she clerked for Judge Wald of the D.C. Circuit and Justice Breyer. She served as the Solicitor General of New York for over five years. Today, she serves as the General Counsel of the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office and teaches as an Adjunct Professor at Columbia Law School. Non-pizza lunch will be served.
