Presidential Management Fellowship (PMF) Info Session
Tuesday, September 13, 2011 05:00 PM EDT
-- 06:00 PM EDT
All 3L students are invited to join Matt Gewolb, SJI's Associate Director of Government Programs, to learn about the Presidential Management Fellowship (pmf.gov), a two-year paid fellowship with the federal government. The application, nomination and selection processes will be discussed. All graduating students interested in government employment - and all connoisseurs of high quality PowerPoint presentations - should plan to attend.
If you're unable to attend, please take note of the following information, which will be discussed during the program:
This year, the PMF application window is brief and very early, running from September 15, 2011 to September 25, 2011. You can apply to the program via links on USA Jobs (usajobs.gov) or the PMF website (pmf.gov). Once you have completed your initial application on-line, you will be prompted to print a nomination form. This form must be printed and hand delivered, along with a current resume and transcript (unofficial is fine), to the 9th floor of the Social Justice Initiatives office in Little Warren by 10 a.m. on September 26, 2011. You will then be considered for nomination by the Law School. You will not be considered for nomination by the Law School unless you submit your nomination form and supporting documents as described above. Nomination is required for you to move on in the selection process. We will conduct a competitive nomination process for students who submit a nomination form. Criteria for nomination includes: 1) demonstrated breadth and quality of accomplishments; 2) capacity for leadership; and 3) commitment to a career in the analysis and management of public policies and programs. More information about application, nomination, and selection is available on the PMF website, at www.pmf.gov.
