Join SJI's Fall 2012 Visitor from Government Practice Travis LeBlanc, Special Assistant Attorney General of California, for a discussion on government regulation of the Internet and emerging technologies.
Silicon Valley is evolving faster than the government can regulate. In less than a decade, we have seen the rise of social media and mobile computing, the reinvention of television and content distribution, smart meters, cloud services, and the emergence of numerous other exciting technologies. These technologies are changing how we relate to one another, the boundaries between our public and private lives, how we conduct business, and how we govern. The traditional tools of regulation are unable to keep pace with the velocity of innovation. LeBlanc will offer innovative regulatory solutions that are faster, more flexible, and more collaborative with industry.
Hosted by Social Justice Initiatives. Lunch will be served.
