Aereo retransmits copyrighted TV programs to its paid subscribers over the internet. Some courts have held that because Aereo assigns each of its users an individual mini-antenna, its activities don’t infringe the TV networks’ public performance rights. The Supreme Court recently accepted cert. in one of the several Aereo cases pending in the lower courts.
Speakers: Jeffrey Cunard, Debevoise & Plimpton LLP and Jason M. Schultz, NYU School of Law
This event is part of the Kernochan Center's Spring IP Speaker Series.
