Professor Thomas Lee, Leitner Professor of International Law, Director of Graduate and International Studies, Fordham Law School, will discuss formative developments in the rule of law and democracy in South Korea since the country’s transition from authoritarian rule in the late 1980s. Among the topics addressed are the role of the Constitutional Court, the impact of seminal cases on separation of powers, and salient legal issues that are emblematic of changes and internal tensions that have shaped relations between the South Korean government and society.
