Preet Bharara, the top federal prosecutor who oversees the Southern District of NY, will share his views of the challenges prosecutors face in dealing with public corruption, financial fraud, and international cases. Mr. Bharara was confirmed as U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York in August 2009 and handles federal cases in Manhattan, the Bronx, and six counties north of the city. He is also a member of the Corporate Fraud Task Force of the U.S. DOJ’s Office of the Deputy Attorney General. He previously served as chief counsel to Senator Charles Schumer in the U.S. Senate’s Committee on the Judiciary, Attorney for the Southern District of New York (under Mary Jo White ‘74), associate with Swidler Berlin LLP, and associate with Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP.
