Giuseppe Scognamiglio has an extensive background in private finance and public service. He has served as a diplomat for chis home country of Italy since 1988, and as Executive Vice President for Public Affairs of the Unicredit Group since 2010. Since January 2013, he has additionally served as Chairman of the editorial company “EuropEye”, which publishes “East-Global Geopolitics,” a review of international politics and economy.
Before joining the Unicredit Group in 2003, he served in the diplomatic service as chief of staff of the Minister for Foreign Affairs (2001) and Counselor for Foreign Policy of the Minister for Industry and Foreign Trade (1999-2001). He started his diplomatic career in 1989, in the desk United Nations at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, then abroad as Consul in Izmir (Turkey) and Political and Press Counselor at the Italian Embassy in Buenos Aires. He is also a board member for two NGOs—Save the Children Italy and L’AltraNapoli.
